In 1982, Gérard Jaffré created Meti Software & Services to support the evolution of the IT market, which leaves the world of large systems for lighter solutions.
In the 1980s, Meti specialized very quickly in the sector of Retail and especially in the computerization of warehouses. This orientation makes it possible to widen the company’s market well beyond Brittany by treating the needs of national brands (now absorbed in larger units) like Rallye or Prisunic.
In the early 1990s, Meti expanded its range and chose to develop a solution for the management of central purchasing centers and stores. This turn allows the company to enter under the banners of major players in general retail, especially in hypermarkets with Continent brand of the Hyparlo group (now Carrefour).
Since 1995, Meti has established itself in Overseas and is expanding its software for import and export management functions. This particular niche has become a specialty, which explains the very important implementation of Meti software with the export centers of major brands but also their customers in the DOM-TOM.
In the late 1990s, Meti internationalized its solutions by introducing into its software the notions of multi-currency and multi-language. Italy and Romania are the first countries to deploy Meti solutions. Several others will follow in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.
In the mid-2000s, with the advent of eCommerce and Drive, the company positioned itself as the preferred partner of leading brands in this field. The solutions are enriched to address the needs of multi-channel and multi-format groups.
Today, it consolidates its position with major general retailers and develops its activity in other distribution sectors such as do-it-yourself, garden centers or the equipment of the house.
